RILEY RAMONES NAMED HEAD GOLF PROFESSIONAL AT THE PRESERVE GOLF CLUB
CARMEL, Calif. (March 31, 2021) – Riley Ramones has been named head golf professional at The Preserve Golf Club in the Santa Lucia Preserve community and ranked among “America’s 100 Greatest” golf courses by Golf Digest.
Ramones most recently served as first assistant professional at the prestigious Cypress Point Club and prior to that at Pebble Beach Golf Links, both in nearby Pebble Beach. He replaces head professional Brian Sleeman, who is leaving to become head golf professional at Orchard Lake Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
“We are thrilled to welcome Riley to the Santa Lucia Preserve family,” said Karen Baxter, Chief Operating Officer at The Preserve. “His enthusiasm for the game of golf and his commitment to member golf experiences are a perfect fit for our Preserve community.”
In his new role, Ramones, 38, will oversee daily golf operations including management of the golf staff, operations team, and caddies.
“I have learned that you must wear many hats in order to be successful,” said Ramones. “Delivering top-level customer service for members and guests, coupled with leading a team of talented people, is what drives me.”
In addition to his golf experiences, Ramones served as children’s pastor at Calvary Monterey, where the experience served as “an additional building block in enhancing my skills to manage an organization.”
Ramones, his wife Bryna, and their three children reside in Spreckels.
The Preserve Golf Club, an award-winning Tom Fazio design, is the centerpiece of a private community of only 300 home sites situated on 20,000 acres in the scenic coastal mountains east of Carmel-by-the-Sea, Calif. Residents are devoted to the founders’ mission of habitat conservation, establishing the only community in America with a perpetually endowed nature conservancy. The golf course winds through oaks, redwoods, streams, and the Santa Lucia Mountains.
