Bear Creek Golf Club Earns First-Place Award For Outdoor Restaurant
Golf Inc. Magazine Singles Out Facility for Reinventing its Food-and-Beverage Concept
DALLAS (April 19, 2022) — Bear Creek Golf Club, centrally located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, has earned a first-place award from Golf Inc. as part of its prestigious annual Golden Fork competition, which identifies the best new and remodeled food-and-beverage facilities at golf clubs around the world.
Owned and operated by Arcis Golf, Bear Creek won in a special 2022 category, “Reinvention in Response to the Pandemic,” for The Backyard — a fun, hip outdoor dining and neighborhood gathering place that was totally reimagined in the wake of COVID-19. The Backyard evolved from the need to accommodate food-and-beverage guests in a safe, socially distanced environment while golf play at Bear Creek boomed.
Along with handling increased demand from golfers, The Backyard also hosted a sold-out culinary event called RARE last November. Top chefs and bartenders from across Arcis Golf’s portfolio of clubs wowed attendees with multi-sensory pop-up dining and drinking experiences.
From its inception, The Backyard has featured a retro Airstream trailer along with fire pits, market lights hung from stately oak trees, handcrafted wooden tables, and live entertainment. Golfers and visitors alike can dine on delicious barbecue, hearty burgers, local microbrews, and craft cocktails while enjoying concerts and lawn games, including table tennis, foosball, and cornhole.
“We are thrilled for Bear Creek Golf Club and its talented team to be recognized for their ingenuity and creativity to delivering quality experiences,” said Blake Walker, Founder and CEO of Arcis Golf. “Our commitment to the communities we serve is to make great golf and non-golf experiences accessible to many. We’re incredibly grateful to our customers and the public for embracing The Backyard.”
Arcis’s investment in the food-and-beverage services at Bear Creek adds to the Club’s stature as a compelling events venue. The property’s central location and sprawling grounds make it ideal for hosting outings and tournaments of all sizes. Two expansive event pavilions can accommodate up to 1,200 guests, prompting AVIDGOLFER Magazine to name Bear Creek as the “Best Place To Host A Corporate Event” in the DFW Metroplex.
Moreover, in 2021, the Club’s two Ted Robinson-designed golf courses were dramatically transformed to enhance playability, conditioning, and on-course aesthetics. In the past three years, Arcis Golf has invested more than $75 million across its portfolio in property upgrades, new amenities, personnel, training, and systems to maximize growth and future success.
