ATLANTA ATHLETIC CLUB APPOINTS MARCUS RUTSCHE DIRECTOR OF RACQUET SPORTS

John’s Creek, Ga. (Oct. 7, 2024) – The Atlanta Athletic Club (AAC) has appointed Marcus Rutsche Director of Racquet Sports following an extensive national search.

Rutsche, who starts his position at the end of this month, originally hails from Sydney, Australia, where he was a top junior player and came to the U.S. when he earned a full scholarship to play Division 1 tennis at Austin Peay State University.  There, he was Team MVP in both singles and doubles during his senior year.

With a solid track record of leading successful tennis programs, Rutsche most recently served as the Director of Racquet Sports at Country Club of Roswell where he significantly grew the ALTA teams by 87%, expanded a successful charity pro-am event, and developed a thriving youth tennis program. Prior to that he served as director of tennis at Windward Lake Club in Alpharetta.

He has received several prestigious awards, including the 2023 USPTA National “Star” Award, the 2023 GPTA Director of the Year, and the 2021 USPTA Georgia Director of the Year. Rutsche is well-respected in Georgia, having served as the USPTA Georgia President and served on its Georgia Board of Directors for 10+ years.

Atlanta Athletic Club’s Tennis Center, which boasts 12 outdoor courts, 4 indoor courts, and 8 pickleball courts, and its numerous racquests programs, embrace all skill levels.  The Club’s 2,500-seat outdoor stadium has hosted a range of events throughout the years, including the AT&T Challenge – an ATP tour stop.
